As part of the strategic collaboration with the European Union’s “Switch to Green” program, the Coalition organized an exchange workshop on August 30th. During this event, we had the opportunity to share the experiences of Buenos Aires, Argentina, and the canton of Turrialba, Costa Rica. The primary objective of this workshop was to analyze and gain insights into the development process of circular economy strategies, not only at the national but also at the local level within the region.
Key topics covered during the workshop included:
- Sector analysis and prioritization.
- Governance and participation.
- Management tools and indicators.
Similarly, experts also highlighted the importance of city-level strategies, as these are essential to address local specificities, accelerate the implementation of concrete solutions, as well as promote collaboration between different levels of government and the community. Moreover, these strategies complement and reinforce the national vision of the circular economy, while involving key stakeholders.
